Nurse's Corner
Dear CSG Families,
My name is Jennifer Scheiderer, and as school nurse, my goal is to ensure your daughters’ health and safety while they are at school. As such, open communication and collaboration with families is a priority. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns at any time during the year.
My office is room number 173 and is located down the main hallway to the right, just beyond the desk at the Athletic Entrance and adjacent to the dining hall. I am in my office every weekday during the school year from approximately 8am until 4pm.
I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Science and Nursing and am a Registered Nurse with a background in pediatric critical care nursing. This is my third year at CSG and my 11th year as a school nurse; however I still work occasionally at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. I have a large blended family with five children who range in age from 16 to 23 years old. When they are not keeping me busy, I love to be outdoors adventuring with our two dogs!
I love my job, I love interacting with and getting to know your daughters, and I am excited to be a part of this amazing team of educators, faculty, and staff. I look forward to working together with the CSG community to help make this a happy, healthy, and fun school year for all of your daughters!
Sincerely,
Jennifer Scheiderer, RN, BSN

CSG Allergy Policy
Columbus School for Girls is a nut-free environment. All food products as well as other health and wellness products (e.g. lip balms, hand sanitizers, lotions) and/or materials brought into the school must be peanut and tree nut free.
Dismissal Due to Illness
The school nurse is able to provide basic medical care for acute and chronic illness and basic first aid for injuries. A student who becomes ill or injured during school should see the school nurse. If the student needs to be dismissed due to illness and is unable to drive herself home due to age and/or illness, a parent/guardian must arrive at school to get the student within 60 minutes. If this is not possible, the student's emergency contacts will be notified and asked to come and pick the student up.
Absences and Attendance
Please keep your daughter at home if she is exhibiting signs and symptoms of illness. If your child has a diagnosed contagious illness (ie. chicken pox, strep throat, pink eye) please notify the school so that the nurse may let other parents know to look for specific signs and symptoms in their own children.
If your child is out with ill symptoms for more than 24 hours, please provide a doctor's note upon return and/or a negative Covid-19 test. If your child does test positive for Covid, please notify Nurse Scheiderer and keep your child home for 5 days from the start of symptoms—which is considered Day 0. Your child will need to return in a mask for days 6-10. Please reach out to Nurse Scheiderer with any health-related questions.
Final Forms
Final Forms is the electronic platform that CSG uses to maintain pertinent student information, including health-related information. The link to Final Forms is found on the CSG website under the parent portal. All Forms are to be completed and/or updated and electronically signed annually PRIOR to the first day of school.
Important Medical Information
Please note that care plans of any type are required to be updated by the student's physician annually (and signed by both the parent/guardian and physician) and submitted to the school nurse. Students will not be permitted to attend off campus field trips if their care plan and/or medication is not current.

Immunization Information
As mandated by the State of Ohio, updated immunization records or immunization exemption documentation (if exemption documentation is not already on file) must be provided to the school nurse before the 15th day of the school year for continued school attendance (Ohio Revised Code Section 3313.67). All students in the PYC must submit an updated immunization record and physician-signed Child Medical Statement annually, for every year they are in the PYC building. All new students, regardless of the Form they are entering, must submit an updated immunization record prior to the start of the upcoming school year.
Immunization records may be emailed to School Nurse Jennifer Scheiderer at jscheiderer@columbusschoolforgirls.org, faxed to CSG at 614-252-0571, or mailed directly to the school at 65 S. Drexel Avenue, Columbus, OH, 43209.
