Pre-K - Grade 8 Teacher - Summer Program

CSG Summer Programs provide a comprehensive co-educational experience for children from Pre-K through Grade 12, in which children have opportunities to explore many of their educational and extracurricular interests, including sports programs. Our Summer Programs are designed to help students develop new interests and friendships in a fun, stimulating, learning-centered environment blended with challenges and adventures that offer unique, confidence-building educational experiences. Position Summary: CSG Summer Programs seeks qualified individuals to assist in the organization and implementation of high quality, student-focused, academically enriched programming for CSG Summer Programs. A qualified applicant will teach a group of students for a minimum of one week class specific to their related field, making sure that classes are fun, educational, and aligned with the standards of CSG Summer Programs and Columbus School for Girls.

Essential Duties and responsibilities:

- Thinks, communicates, and behaves as a leader and role model for other staff and students when it comes to desired staff behaviors; promotes youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility in all job-related functions.

- Responsible for the safety of every participant in their class

- Leads program participants through daily educational activities

- Keeping administrative paperwork organized including: keeping attendance, creating supply lists, planning class activities and projects, etc.

- Provides encouragement to students often and responsible for discipline when issues arise

Qualifications and Requirements:

- Holds a degree in education, recreation, social sciences, or a related field, and two or more years' experience working in a summer camp or school environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community

- Strong verbal and written communication skills

- Proven track record of developing authentic relationships with others

- Ability to foster a collaborative team approach to solving challenging situations including being able to lead conversations, delegate, provide over site, and make decisions

- Well planned and organized, experienced strategic "Big Picture" thinking

- Ability to take initiative and engage children of all ages

- Creative and flexible personality

This position requires 20-40 hours/week for up to 8 weeks
