Parents' Association-CSGPA

Are you wondering how you can get involved with the PA? We have lots of PA committee positions open for the 2022- 2023 school year! Each week we will feature an open board position. Please let us know if you might be interested in volunteering your time. It’s a great way to meet other parents and we always have lots of fun!   I hope you will consider a role within the CSG PA!

This week we are featuring the Unicorner Manager Positions.  We are looking for 2 managers to share the job in the Unicorner! The Unicorner has quickly become one of the biggest fundraisers for the parents association. Each year we see growth and this year we are seeing record number sales! It’s very exciting. It’s also a great way to get to see your daughter during the school day! So grab a friend who you want to spend a few hours a week with and Co-Manage the Unicorner together!  It’ll be fun, I promise! Some of the responsibilities include:

  • Buyer-overseeing the new purchases of merchandise and working with vendors – this is fun…you get to choose what the store stocks!
  • Inventory-maintaining the POS and Shopify inventory to make sure quantities match…you can finally put all that math your daughter is learning to use!!!
  • Volunteers- managing the lunch-time sign ups and ensure volunteers for special events- this can be as easy as a SignUpGenius…so simple!
  • Social Media- managing and posting to Facebook and Instagram…If this doesn’t sound like your thing I am sure your daughter can help you ; )  I know I would have to ask my daughter for help!
  • Pop Up Shops- operating the shop for Alumnae events, Sports Extravaganza Events, PA Events (Back to School Socials, Thanksgiving Program, etc.)

Previously, we featured the Concession Stand Chair Position. This position is for indoor sports only. The time requirement is about 1-2 hours per week. It runs from August – February.  Sports involved are Winter- swimming and basketball and Fall- volleyball.

Responsibilities include:

  • Organizing Volunteers for the Concession Stand during home games - using Sign Up Genius- current sports teams parents are the volunteers
  • Purchasing and Restocking food/snacks/beverages for the concession stand
  • Depositing money

Please reach out to Julie Hostetler directly if you are interested in these positions. Julie will put you in touch with the current chairs to answer any questions you might have: Julie.hostetler@emersongroup.com or 614-565-0410. THANK YOU!

As a result of various fundraising efforts this year through Flower Sales, the Unicorner Store, and other endeavors,  the Parents' Association has presented CSG a check in the amount of $64,000. Get Involved!

There are so many ways to get involved with the CSGPA.

The Columbus School for Girls is an amazing and active community with fabulous students, faculty and parents.

All parents and guardians of CSG students are members of the CSGPA. The mission of the CSGPA is to foster a feeling of goodwill and camaraderie within the CSG community, contribute to school spirit, sponsor events and raise funds.

We sponsor a variety of fun, fundraising, and community-building activities. Five times during the year, the CSGPA welcomes all parents and guardians to attend Parent Forums, an opportunity to hear a member of the faculty or administration speak about the educational, arts and athletic programs at CSG. Following the Parent Forum, all are encouraged to stay to attend the CSGPA General Board. It is a great way to stay informed and connected.
