Alumnae Weekend is Three Weeks Away!
April 27 & 28, 2018
Alumnae Weekend is just three short weeks away. CSG is busy preparing the school for the arrival of our alumnae. We have events at CSG planned for Friday, April 27th and Saturday, April 28th. Reunion classes are also encouraged to plan individual class parties. If you have not taken a look at the schedule of events, you can do so online, HERE. We hope to see you soon!

Alumna of the Year
Jill Levy '70
Columbus School for Girls is proud to announce our 2018 Alumna of the Year is Jill Levy '70. Jill has been a constant feature at CSG since moving back to Columbus in the 1990's. Her enthusiasm to ensure that CSG continues to produce strong women has not gone unnoticed. Jill's most recent contribution has been the creation of CSG's Oral History Project. Jill has been instrumental in bringing this idea to fruition. Because of her diligence, we have interviewed more than 50 alumnae in just three months.
But this is just one of the ways that Jill has impacted our community in a positive way. We hope that you will join us in celebrating Jill Levy and all of her accomplishments on Friday, April 27th during the Alumnae Weekend Chapel

Athletic Hall of Fame Induction
Charity Fluharty '06
We are thrilled to announce that the 2018 CSG Athletic Hall of Fame Inductee is Charity Fluharty '06! Charity was a member of the Soccer, Basketball, and Lacrosse teams at CSG, where she earned 12 varsity letters! Charity continued her academic and athletic career at Stanford University, where she earned an athletic scholarship, and was a varsity letter winner for Lacrosse. After graduating with two engineering degrees, Charity moved to Kansas City, Missouri, where she works for Hallmark. Charity still lives an active lifestyle, competing in Triathlons and earning three USA Triathlon All-American honors. Help us to honor Charity this Alumnae Weekend!

I.D.E.A. - Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Advocacy
April Update
The IDEA Committee (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Advocacy) welcomed Dr. Hassan Jeffries, Professor of African American History at OSU, as the moderator of a powerful evening of discussion about Hollywood's depiction of racial struggle in the movies, Mudbound and Get Out. We watched clips of reviews and interviews with the actors and directors to gain more insight into how society uses entertainment to process difficult topics. Dr. Jeffries used a variety of group discussion techniques to help us explore and expand our understanding of differing racial experiences.
On April 9th at 6 pm, Betsy Esser, CSG's Director of Diversity and Inclusion, will lead us in a conversation about White Privilege, using White Like Me, a documentary by Tim Wise, to prompt discussion and exploration. Please join us as we dig a little deeper into how the CSG community can be a leader in our changing world.
And to end our year of programming, the IDEA Committee will be hosting a discussion during Alumnae Weekend to help alumnae plug into the progress the school is championing on all of the initiatives in place to help the students navigate the diverse world they will be leading.
