| Anastasia Staten '98 to speak at CSG Commencement Ceremony Anastasia Staten '98 will speak at CSG's Commencement Ceremony on Thursday, June 1 from 2:00 to 3:00pm on our main campus. As the Executive Director of the ESA Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the video game industry, which provides educational experiences in game-making arts and technology for underserved college-aged students, Staten helps provide young people with access to opportunities and resources they might not otherwise have. | CSG to celebrate retirees Friday, June 2 We invite you to join us in celebrating the retirements of three long-time CSG faculty members: 5/6 Teacher Devra Hiller, World Languages Department Chair Bill Miller, and Upper School English Teacher Patricia Miranda. Please join us Friday, June 2 from 4:00 to 6:00pm in the Alumnae Living Room for a gathering, and make sure to RSVP here. Notes may be mailed (or emailed) to the attention of Elise Skaggs at Columbus School for Girls, 65 S. | | Communication survey now live On Thursday, May 25 you should have received an email about our CSG Community Communications and Engagement Survey, which will be available through Thursday, June 8. As we prepare for the upcoming school year, we're collecting feedback on communication and programming preferences as well as demographic information to better serve our community. | | Share your ideas for the Institute for Innovation and Leadership We're looking forward to launching our Institute for Innovation and Leadership, our signature program housing six centers designed to provide experiential learning opportunities. While much planning is already underway and will continue over the summer months, we're also interested in hearing your suggestions for projects, programming, and opportunities for students next school year. | | New student-designed spiritwear on sale at the Unicorner Jameson Pillifant '24 and Jordan Westin '24 recently launched a new collection of CSG spiritwear called "The Sisterhood Collection," and shirts are available now to purchase at the Unicorner. Look for more garments at the start of the new school year! |

| | My BackPack Password Security Enhancement Beginning July 15, to strengthen the security of personal data, all My BackPack users will need to reset their passwords in accordance with new password requirements. You can log in and click "Forgot Your Password" to create a new password that contains the following: - 13 characters long (no more, no less)
- 1 uppercase letter
- 1 lowercase letter
- 1 number
- 1 special character (#,$, &, etc)

| OWL cameras for sale During the pandemic, CSG bought OWL cameras to facilitate hybrid learning. At this point, we have a number of cameras that we no longer need and would be happy to offer to the CSG community for $200 a piece. | CSG Sports Academy CSG Sports Academy will begin mid-June and will be open to rising 3rd to 8th grade girls at CSG and the greater community. Sports will include soccer, field hockey, basketball, tennis, volleyball, and lacrosse. |

| MS Music Ensembles earn awards during Festival of Music event On Saturday, May 20, Middle School band, choir, and strings students competed in the Festival of Music event at Kings Mill High School and earned outstanding distinctions. The Strings and Band ensembles both earned an Excellent rating and were named 1st place in their respective divisions. The Choir Ensemble earned a Superior rating and earned 1st place in their division, as well as overall out of all participating middle school choirs. CSG Middle School students also earned the Esprit de Corps award, which is presented to students from a school who demonstrate supportive and encouraging behavior toward other participants during the event. |

| Power of the Pen team qualifies for final round in State Competition CSG's Power of the Pen team competed May 18-19 in the State Tournament, held at Ashland University. Power of the Pen is Ohio's interscholastic creative writing program for middle school students, and participating CSG students included Simone Dean '28, Lucia Furci '28, Paloma Sanchez '28, Ella Armstrong '27, Sydney Poindexter '27, and Julia Paini '27. Lucia, Simone, and Ella all qualified for the fourth and final round, which represented only 20% of participants. Ella also received a four-year scholarship to Ashland University in recognition of her achievements as a Form VII and VIII student. |

| | Lower and Middle school students celebrate end of school year with Field Days Earlier this week, Lower and Middle School students rang in the end of the school year with their annual Field Days. Lower School students played 9 Square in the Air and Tug of War. They participated in a water relay race and played with water balloons. Middle School festivities included a talent show, kickball, science labs, and a balloon toss, among other activities. Everyone gathered for ice cream in the cafeteria before being dismissed at the end of the day. |

| | Kindergarten class showcases "Imagination Installation" Kindergarten families on Wednesday, May 24 had the opportunity to visit Cynthia's Woods to view an art installation created by kindergarten students. The students created art in response to considering what they would be and see, hear, feel, and wish if they lived in Cynthia's Woods. The pieces also featured QR codes to scan to hear students' audio recordings describing their work. |

| Form VI visits COSI As a culmination of their year spent studying ancient civilizations, Form VI visited COSI on Tuesday, May 23 to see the impressive King Tutankhamun exhibition. The students also saw other favorite classic exhibits, including the Planetarium, Ocean, Progress, and Big Science Park. |

| Form IV rides replica of early 1800s boat As part of their study of Ohio history, Form IV students on Tuesday, May 23 visited Coshocton Park District to ride on the Monticello 3, an early 1800s replica boat from the Canal Era. Students rode on a preserved section of the Ohio/Erie Canal, learning how and why canals were built. They saw firsthand how these flatboats were pulled by horses or mules on towpaths. The girls even got to visit with the horses after the trip! |

| Upper School students attend leadership conference Five Upper School students attended the Shine Bright Like a Diamond Columbus Diversity Leadership Conference hosted by Columbus Academy Saturday, May 20. Participating students included Yinan Chen '26, Victoria Dizon '26, Priya Mehta '26, Alysa Li '24, and Maddy Wood '24. |

| | Donate used uniforms to the Attic Donate your pre-loved, gently used school uniforms to the Attic! We accept dress code skirts, skorts, tunics, shirts, shorts, pants, and spirit wear in good condition (no tears or stains). You can drop off items at the front desk or leave them in the bin outside at the main entrance. Your daughter's outgrown uniforms will be the perfect size for someone else's daughter! |

| Attic Sidewalk Sale to be held August 19 Join the Parents' Association Saturday, August 19 at the Back to School Social for the Annual Attic Sidewalk Sale. The sale will be held right outside the Unicorn Theater (enter through the Unicorn Courtyard on the Columbia side of the building). This is a great opportunity to save money on gently used uniforms. Items available during the Attic Sidewalk Sale include tunics, belts, shorts, dress shirts, skirts, pants, sweatshirts, polo shirts, sweaters, and spirit wear. Sizes are available for all students. |

| Fall sports begin in August Upper School fall sports begin on Tuesday, August 1. It is imperative that all athletes report to practice on that date, as coaches are preparing team rosters and game lineups. Middle School fall sports begin on Wednesday, August 9. Again, we need any Middle School athlete trying out for a fall sport to report to practice on that date. Thank you for your help! |
