| CSG Family Workshop Series: January 24 We are pleased to invite you to the first of our new series of workshops designed to facilitate a strong partnership between school and home as you raise your daughters. On Tuesday, January 24 from 6:30 to 8:00pm we invite all parents and guardians to join the team from Gestalt Columbus in the Who, What, When, Where and How of Technology. The event will be located in the Unicorn Theater, and parents can enter through the Events Entrance on Columbia Avenue. In this seminar, we will discuss and gain tools on how to support our daughters with appropriate use of technology, how to navigate issues that arise from social media, setting boundaries that align with your family's values, and more. We will gather as a full community of parents and guardians to kick off the workshop before dividing up into groups to focus our conversations on the ages and stages of our girls by division. To register, please RSVP here. |

| Form I uses augmented reality sandbox to explore landforms Form I students this week and last week have had the opportunity to use an augmented reality (AR) sandbox in connection with curricula surrounding various map types, their purpose, and what maps can represent. They created 3-D maps with the sand with tools they learned to use throughout the unit. The AR Sandbox has provided the opportunity for students to have a hands-on experience like no other! | Form VII learns about "Convivencia" as part of religion study On Thursday, World Languages Department Chair and Upper School Spanish Faculty Member Bill Miller presented to Form VII students in the Unicorn Theater about the CSG Faculty Travel Grant trip he took to Spain this past summer. Miller visited Málaga, Granada, Sevilla, Córdoba, Toledo, and Madrid to study the Convivencia, or the "great living together" of Muslims, Jews, and Christians from about 711 to 1492. Specifically, he was looking at evidence of the merging of cultures, religion, and humanity by studying the arts, architecture, and literature that came out of that period. | |
| | Upper School students become detectives in Algebra II class To study for an upcoming test, students in Mr. Lewis's Algebra II class solved polynomial equations to figure out who was behind a "murder" in their classroom. Working through lists of evidence and alibis, classmates worked together to figure out who the correct suspect was. To see more photos of their work, click here. |
