| Gearing up for Winter Break Winter Break begins Monday, December 19, and students will return to campus on Tuesday, January 3. That Tuesday will be a late start for students. The PYC and Lower, Middle, and Upper School will start at 10:00am. Busses for the following routes will be available for pick-up that day: - New Albany/Gahanna 9:00am
- Dublin/Olentangy 8:45am

| PYC students get festive during Jingle Jog It's that time again! Our youngest students got in the holiday spirit earlier this week with their annual Jingle Jog. While this event is typically held at Kirk Campus, the girls were inside at the gym this year because of weather. Joined by parents and guardians, our students had the opportunity for some family time while also getting some exercise! |

| Lower School students practice their skills during Math Monorail This morning, the Lower School community gathered in the Unicorn Theater to participate in the Math Monorail. A new addition to the students' schedule this year that was inspired by the Reading Train, the project is meant to celebrate an interest in math. Each month, students have the opportunity to work on fun applications of age-appropriate math skills, such as games, puzzles, and other activities. Today, the students celebrated with a special holiday edition! | |

| Form IV student wins at MLK Oratorical Contest After competing in the City of Columbus Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Youth Oratorical on Saturday, December 3, Jasmine Davis '31 won in the Intermediate Division for grades 3 through 5. The 2023 theme for the Ohio Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Commission is "Bridging the Divide: Daring to Dream Again." Davis and other students who competed shared original orations. As a winner, she will also have the opportunity to compete in the Statewide MLK Youth Oratorical Contest in April, and she'll also share her piece at the CSG MLK Program Friday, January 13. | Middle School students share Spanish project presentations This week and last week, Form VII and VIII students shared presentations with their classmates in which they built on what they've been learning all semester. Form VII students composed recipes in Spanish, featuring ingredients, measurements, and steps. They also brought their baked goods in to share with their classmates. Form VIII students shared videos and skits of shopping experiences between a shopper and an employee. The exercises helped the students deepen their understanding of grammatical concepts and learn new vocabulary skills. |

| | Middle School Robotics League students earn accolades during tournament Two of our Robotics League teams performed exceptionally well during a tournament held Saturday, December 10. The Unified Coders were awarded the Motivate award for embracing the culture of FIRST LEGO League through team building, team spirit, and enthusiasm. The Unibots will advance to regionals and were awarded the Robot Design Award for outstanding programming principles and solid engineering practices to develop a robot that is mechanically sound, durable, and efficient. Join us in congratulating these students on their accomplishments, and wish the Unibots luck in their next phase of competition! | |
| | Upper School Silhouette staff launch second issue of the year Silhouette staff this week announced the newest issue of CSG's student-run newspaper, which is available online. The issue features Upper School Director Scott Parsons and Upper School Administrative Assistant Kati Nelson, as well as pieces about CSG Thanksgiving traditions, the junior class' trip to Cleveland, and the recent canned food drive. | |
