A World of Opportunity: Why a CSG Education is Worth It
Our students benefit from world-class faculty and access to three distinct campuses. Our Main Campus amenities include an eight-lane pool, a yoga room, a fitness center, and our state-of-the-art, 390-seat Agnes Jeffrey Shedd Theater. With two full-sized gymnasiums, two libraries, a media production studio, and a large dining hall, our main campus has everything students need to thrive.

Cynthia’s Woods is our 100-acre wooded space located just 20 minutes from Main Campus. A space for learning and adventure, the woods are used by classes for a variety of projects and activities. Our 55-acre athletic facility features the Kieckhefer Tennis Courts, Yassenoff Field, Alumnae Field, Zimmerman Track, Woodhall Nature Trail, Krumm Field and Upper Practice Field, and Kirk House. Girls compete here in cross country, field hockey, lacrosse, soccer, tennis, and track and field. With resources like these and personalized support, we ensure your daughter’s growth is nurtured in every area.

Additional Fees

Class Trips

Each year in Middle School, and again in Form XI, students take an overnight class trip. Costs range from $125 in Form VI to $675 in Form VIII.

Books

Middle and Upper School students purchase some of their own textbooks. These costs vary depending on the courses each girl is taking. A typical Middle School student spends approximately $60, and Upper School books range from $100-$300.

Optional Fees

After Hours Program

CSG’s After Hours Program is available to enrolled PYC and Lower, School students. Complete information and costs here.
Some after-school activities are offered for an additional fee, including Lower School Unicorn Sports and Middle School Ski Club. There is no fee for interscholastic sports in Middle and Upper School.

School Trips

The school sponsors optional travel opportunities during spring break and over the summer. For more information on our school trip offerings, reach out to your Admissions Director during or after your visit.

Incidentals

Families are responsible for the cost of optional expenses, including yearbooks, school supplies, musical instruments, art supplies in some upper school courses, personal sports equipment and spirit wear, etc.

Payment plans are set up through auto-pay in Veracross.

Monthly payments for the 12-month plan begin in May, and payments for the 10-month plan begin in July.
Monthly automatic deductions can be made from an electronic checking or savings account.
Monthly credit card payments can be made using MasterCard, American Express, or Discover.
Auto pay has an annual fee of $40.

While tuition reflects the outstanding education and personal growth opportunities your daughter will experience, CSG offers a wide range of need-based tuition assistance, transportation, and merit scholarships to ensure finances do not hinder your daughter’s future. With 59% of our recent graduates pursuing STEM degrees and 98% admitted to one of their top 3 colleges, a CSG education is a gateway to a world of opportunity. CSG is committed to making education accessible. This year, more than $3.4 million was awarded to 39% of our students who receive some tuition assistance. We also offer merit scholarships for academically accomplished new students in Forms VI-IX. All full-day students from PYC through Form XII are eligible for need-based tuition assistance.

How to Apply for Tuition Assistance

For New Families

To get started, please go to the Clarity Application and create an account. The application typically takes less than 30 minutes to complete. The Clarity Application is also mobile-friendly so you can complete it from anywhere. You are also able to save your progress and return at any time. At the end of the application, there is a $60 fee to submit, and you can share your application with additional schools that accept the Clarity Application for no additional charge. Simply use the dropdown menu in the application to select those schools.

For Current Families

Tuition Assistance Policies

Tuition assistance at CSG is based on demonstrated need and is intended as a supplement to a family's financial resources. Every family is required to invest something toward their daughter’s education.
Families of students receiving tuition assistance must reapply every year, and tuition assistance will be adjusted to reflect changes in tuition and in a family’s financial circumstances.
CSG makes a long-term commitment to continue to provide tuition assistance to a family as long as they demonstrate need.
CSG maintains the same standards of behavior and academic performance for recipients of tuition assistance as it does for non-recipients.
Columbus School for Girls administers its admission, tuition assistance, and employment policies without regard to race, religion, creed, sexual orientation, or national origin.
The tuition assistance committee uses the analysis provided by School and Student Services by NAIS, our tuition assistance management system as a starting point, and will consider additional information provided by the family when determining each family’s ability to pay tuition.
CSG’s policy regarding divorced, separated, or never-married parents is that both natural parents must complete the tuition assistance application process (if living). We look for each family’s ability to pay, not their willingness to pay. If the custodial parent has remarried, we also will consider assets of the step-parent (bearing in mind the obligations of that step-parent to his or her own natural children). CSG reserves the right to impute income in the absence of required information.
CSG expects both parents to maximize their earning potential. We reserve the right to impute an income for a non-working parent who does not have young children or other family members to care for at home.

MERIT SCHOLARSHIPS

To be eligible for a merit scholarship, a student must be a new applicant for admission to Columbus School for Girls entering grades 6-9. Indicate your desire to be considered for scholarships on the parent questionnaire and complete all components of the admission process by our first round application deadline. For more information on application requirements, please contact our Admissions team.

Need-based financial aid is available in addition to merit scholarships, and a family can be awarded both. The school’s financial aid program is based solely upon need as determined by the School and Clarity for Financial Aid.

Merit Scholarship Selection Process

The Scholarship Selection Committee will determine the recipients of each merit scholarship. Decisions will be based upon a review of the application, test scores, transcripts, and recommendations. Each winner will be notified with her acceptance letter on March 1.

The Scholarship Selection Committee will also determine a group of Alumnae Scholarship finalists based upon test scores, transcripts, recommendations, and an initial review of applications. Each finalist will receive notification with her acceptance letter on March 1 and will then be invited back to campus for a round of formal interviews. Final decisions will be made on or before March 9.
