In Middle School English, students continue broadening their reading and writing skills. Students read and analyze fiction, non-fiction, plays, and poetry to gain a deeper understanding of literature. Through these readings, students expand their worldview and foster an appreciation for diverse cultures and voices. Students work to develop their own unique voices in writing and presenting on a variety of topics through literary analysis and a study of vocabulary and grammar. The fundamentals of literature and English that middle school students practice and apply with increasing complexity prepare our students for the Upper School curriculum and beyond.
