Meet the Director
As the Director of the Center for Artistic & Creative Expression (CACE), Annie Ruefle works with faculty in many curricular areas to define the CACE’s guiding principles and hopes to connect with alumnae to provide experiential learning opportunities for students. This school year will be Annie’s 38th year as a school librarian and her ninth year at CSG. Annie is a frequent presenter on literacy, library programming, and reading promotion for local, state, and national library conferences.
About the CACE Program
The Center for Artistic and Creative Expression (CACE) provides opportunities to enhance the remarkable artistic and creative work our students are already engaged in at CSG and offers additional programming to unlock each student’s creative potential.
Art and creativity have the ability to connect a community, and students have frequent opportunities to share their creative expressions throughout the school community in many different ways, whether programming in computer science, dancing in the school musical, writing and reciting poetry, painting self portraits in art class, designing a science fair project, crocheting in an after school club, debating ideas in a book club, playing the violin, or building a stone wall in the PYC playscape.
Programming also gives students the chance to engage with the larger community by connecting with alumnae, guest speakers, artists, writers, and performers from the greater Columbus community.
Through programming offered by the CACE, your daughter will explore creativity and artistic expression in many forms, discover unexpected and myriad ways in which creative expression is used to connect a community, and appreciate the powerful ways that art and creativity transform our lives with beauty and joy. As she takes risks and tries new things, she will come to more fully recognize her innate artistic potential and become more practiced at translating her creative vision to reality.
