Strategic Planning 2023
About Strategic Planning
This fall, Columbus School for Girls will launch a strategic planning initiative. This endeavor will bring our community together to discuss the school’s future in order to extend our proud tradition of empowering girls to discover their distinct potential as learners and leaders.
Strategic planning is a process of discovery, reflection, discussion, community building, and priority setting through which we will design an overarching direction, set goals, and develop objectives for CSG. A good strategic planning process generates goals that are aspirational, but also practical and obtainable, through a methodology that depends upon the participation of faculty, staff, trustees, parents, and alumnae.
The strategic planning process will provide multiple opportunities for every member of the Columbus School for Girls community to share their observations, opinions, ideas, and recommendations. Led by the Board of Trustees, the process is guided by a steering committee appointed by the Head of School. The committee is comprised of highly engaged internal stakeholders representing a diverse range of perspectives and roles including faculty, staff, administrators, and alumni. Their role is to steer a rigorous, inclusive, transparent, and enjoyable process for the entire school and community.
About Mission Minded
To help us in this endeavor, we have retained Mission Minded; a firm with deep experience helping independent schools shape their futures and strengthen their brands. Their role will be to act as an objective third party, concerned with creating an ambitious, yet practical plan that responds to the needs of the CSG community and allows every part of the school to flourish while advancing the mission and values of the school. Their impartiality and focus on the project will allow the planning to progress without reducing the working capacity of school staff.
