Congratulations to 4 CSG students recognized by the 2020 National Merit Scholarship Program.

Four Columbus School for Girls (CSG) students have been recognized by the 2020 National Merit Scholarship Program.

The CSG seniors are:

Katrina D’Arms- National Merit Commended Student

Helen Hoag- National Merit Commended Student

Leslie Robins-National Merit Semifinalist

About 1.5 million students in more than 21,000 high schools entered the 2020 National Merit Scholarship Program, and 16,000 reached the Semifinalists stage. The nationwide pool of Semifinalists includes the highest-scoring entrants in each state. Approximately 15,000 are expected to advance to the Finalists level and compete for scholarships that will be awarded on a state-representational level. Finalists will be notified in February.

About 34,000 of the approximately 50,000 high scorers on the PSAT/NMSQT ®  receive Letters of Commendation in recognition of their outstanding academic promise across the nation. Although Commended Students do not continue in the competition for National Merit ®  Scholarships, these students have the opportunity to become candidates for Special Scholarships sponsored by corporations and businesses. Commended Students placed among the top 5% of more than 1.5 million students who took the 2018 test.
