Girls Hop To It During Recess Jump Rope Show

Posted September 4, 2012

In the sweltering heat of August, Form II girls gathered on the playground to hop and hula and demonstrate their jump rope and hula hoop skills. Initially intrigued by the handmade sign leading into the Lower School I couldn't pass up the opportunity to see the girls enjoying some of America's oldest pastimes. Division Head, Mrs. Betsy Gugle, assured the girls the "press" would be there so they definitely came out to perform!

Carmen, Lizzie, and Alia, all Form II, showed off their jump rope skills individually and then as a group. Carmen said they "have been jumping rope since the beginning of the year."

Faith, Form I, also displayed her recess talents of being able to hula hoop four hoops at one time! Faith can hula hoop while walking, spinning a hula around her neck and one on her arm.
