Girls, Faculty and Staff Kick Off 2012-2013 School Year

Monday, August 20 was the start of the 2012-2013 school year. The doors opened to welcome in new and returning girls for the 1145th year. The excitement to be back at school was evident from the many hugs, smiles, and cheerful chatter.
Head of School, Liza Lee, welcomed the girls and their families during the annual opening Convocation ceremony. Steeped in tradition the Class of 2013 processed into the gymnasium and were celebrated by remarks from both the Middle School Student Council President, Meg Wilson '17, and Upper School Student Council President Jasneet Singh '13. The seniors each received a single yellow rose.
Following the ceremony seniors, juniors, parents and faculty and staff mingled at a reception held in the lobby of the new Wellness and Athletics Complex. The Wellness and Athletics Complex is nearing completion. The strength and conditioning room, studio, locker rooms, and athletic offices are ready for occupancy and use. The swimming pool will be completed in the fall.
