Track team wins district title

The Columbus School for Girls track and field team scored 129 points to win the Division II, district 2 meet ahead of runner-up Eastmoor Academy (78).
The meet was held May 15, 16 and 19 at Westerville South.
The top four finishers in each event advanced to the regional Thursday, May 24, and Saturday, May 26, at Welcome Stadium in Dayton.
The top four finishers in each regional event advance to the state meet June 1 and 2 at Ohio State.
Placing first at district for CSG were Emma Harris, Rosie Connor, Abigail Perrini and Sophie Chatas in the 3,200-meter relay (9 minutes, 54.95 seconds), Cecilia Pesavento in the 100 hurdles (16.21) and 300 hurdles (47.46), Chatas in the 1,600 (5:12.46) and 800 (2:22.45) and the 1,600 relay (4:10.6).
Finishing second were Ashley Harrington in the long jump (15 feet, 2 1/2 inches) and 100 hurdles (16.26) and Harris in the 400 (59.17).
Placing third were Harris in the 800 (2:25.68), the 400 relay (50.89), Erika Sims in the long jump (14-9 1/2) and Jordon Nielsen in the shot put (34-10 1/2),
Finishing fourth were Connor in the 400 (1:01.86) and Nielsen in the discus (104-1).
Lacrosse team ends season
The lacrosse team opened the Division II South/Central Region tournament May 17 with a 13-12 loss at Bexley.
Sophie Sugar scored six goals, Miranda Butler-Pettit scored four goals, Patricia Ryan scored two goals and Teal Harrison had eight saves for the Unicorns, who finished 8-9.
