CONFERENCES

September Student Led Goal-Setting-Conference

The introductory conference puts the student in charge and begins a three-way communication among student, parent, and advisor. Parents and student discuss concerns and issues that inform the advisor and help develop appropriate goals for the student’s self-improvement. The student learns to use her voice and become responsible for and reflective of her learning.

February Parent/Teacher Conference

The February conference is a meaningful dialogue between parents and teachers where questions and concerns are discussed resulting in an increased awareness of the student’s academic progress and achievements, as well as her organization and work habits.

ADVISORY

Middle School Advisory Program, interdisciplinary teams and a challenging curriculum are the three connecting links of the Middle School. The Advisory Program supports and expands the social, academic, and ethical development of every girl. Close relationships, a safe environment, and character development are at the heart of the Middle School Advisory Program.

Study skills, life-skills, and service-learning are addressed in a safe and comfortable setting. Close relationships are fostered among the girls and with their advisors. Woven throughout all is the importance of girls’ voices learning to speak up and speak out.
