Music Information

Lower School

General music and choir are a part of the CSG curriculum for all students throughout Lower School. Additionally, in the fall, Form III students will choose to begin Recorder or Strings. Form IV & V students will choose to begin Band or Strings in the fall. Private lessons are highly recommended for students wishing to begin a string instrument in Form V.

Middle School

All students in Middle School get to participate in either Band, Strings, or Choir. If students have prior experience on an instrument, we encourage them to join the instrumental program. Please contact Kristen Cook if you have questions about any of the music ensembles in Middle School.

Students entering the band and strings programs should be through Book 1 of their current method book by the fall.

Upper School

The Upper School has six outstanding ensembles in which students can choose to enroll. We encourage all students who love to sing and/or have prior experience on a band or string instrument to enroll in an ensemble when scheduling classes. Students can participate in both choir and one instrumental ensemble. All ensembles are active in OMEA adjudications as well as competitions outside of OMEA. Please contact Kristen Cook if you have questions about any of the music ensembles in Upper School.

Students entering the band and strings programs should be through Book 2 of their current method book by the fall.
