How to Apply

Instructions for Applying for Admission for the 2013-2014 School Year

A completed application may be submitted any time. However, to be considered for first-round decisions, the application must be received and all other steps completed by February 15, 2013.

To make application, please complete the following steps.

  1. Apply online or request an application package

    - Download the application guide and forms from our website

  2. Schedule a parent visit by calling the Admission Office, 614.252.0781

  3. Submit directly to our Admission Office:
    - Completed Application for Admission
    - Parent Questionnaire  
    - Student Questionnaire (Grades 6-12)
    - $50 application fee 
     
  4. Submit to your child's school as applicable:
    - Transcript Release Form
    - Teacher Recommendation 
             Pre-K - Grade 1:   Teacher Recommendation
             Grades 2-5:           Homeroom Teacher Recommendation
             Grades 6-12:         English and Math Teacher Recommendations

  5. Schedule the classroom visit and screening date: 
    - Classroom visit for students entering grades 2-12
    - Assessment/Testing
         Pre-K - Grade 1: 
         Small group screening     
         Individual screening      

         Grades 2-3:          
          Individual screening with classroom teacher     

         Grade 4:                
          Individual screening with classroom teacher       
          and Educational Record Bureau, Comprehensive Testing Program, 
          Fourth Edition (ERB, CTP-4), scheduling begins in October

         Grades 5-12:         
          Independent School Entrance Examination (ISEE)   Test dates and 
          registration available at http://www.iseetest.org/, registration begins
          in November

Final Decision
When the application process has been completed, the Admission Committee will meet to consider each applicant's file to review transcripts, teacher recommendations, attendance records, previous standardized testing results, and CSG screening or testing results. The Admission office will formally notify the applicant's parents or guardians of a decision by letter on March 1, 2013. If a student is offered an enrollment contract, CSG will require the prompt return of the signed contract and a $1,500 non-refundable deposit.
