CSG Advantage

What is Unique About CSG?

Is it the rigorous curriculum? Is it the small class sizes? Is it the century-old, worldwide network of alumnae? There's just something unique about a CSG girl. She's confident. She's strong. She's articulate. In a word she is a leader. She sets unusually high standards for herself, and is not afraid to take the risks necessary to achieve her own version of success.

At CSG, girls flourish in a collaborative, interactive, and meaningful environment without fear of academic gender stereotyping. They are afforded numerous opportunities to discover the direction and depth of their abilities for leadership, and to develop a lifelong love of learning. Columbus School for Girls is an independent, college preparatory school, accredited by the Independent Schools of the Central States (ISACS).  For 114 years, CSG has been a leader in the education of girls and young women. Why choose an all-girls school?

Recent research has confirmed what we've known for over 100 years - that a single-gender educational environment is better for girls. Developing the confidence and self-knowledge of all students is central to our work. Consequently, the girls and young women of CSG embrace the opportunities and challenges of adolescence with a level of assurance and poise rarely seen in today's society. Girls are always at center stage. They must participate, take charge and get involved. View the research at http://www.ncgs.org/. Graduates of girls' schools are confident learners, critical thinkers, self-starters, and contributing team players.

Why choose an Independent School?

The National Association of Independent Schools provides new data from the U.S. Department of Education showing that NAIS schools excel in offering young people an academically-rigorous education that is rich in values. This report outlines ways an independent school education nurtures intellectual growth and helps children develop into healthy, active, and community-minded adults.

One of the best ways to learn about independent schools is to hear from parents of independent school students. View parents discussing the value of an independent school education with the National Association of Independent Schools.
