  • Upper School Part-Time American Sign Language Teacher

    Columbus School for Girls is seeking an American Sign Language (ASL) instructor for a part-time, afternoon position (2:00-3:30pm) in the Upper School (Grades 9-12). This position would include beginning through intermediate courses, specifically ASL I and III for the 2015-2016 school year

    Well-qualified candidates with bachelor’s degrees in ASL will be considered, but an advanced degree is preferred. Candidates should have experience teaching beginning through advanced level ASL courses to high school or college students. Strong classroom management skills and proficiency with classroom technology are key components of the position.   • PS/K and Elementary Substitute Teachers

    Columbus School for Girls is seeking qualified substitute teachers who are able and willing to engage students throughout the year in the Program for Young Children (ages 3-6) and Lower School (Grades 1-5). Candidates for the positions should hold at least a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood education (for Preschool/Kindergarten with appropriate certifications) or hold a teaching license that encompasses elementary education (Grades 1-5 for Lower School). We seek energetic teachers with a wide breadth of knowledge, facility with various technologies (Smart Boards, tablet computers, etc.), who possess a strong understanding of effective pedagogy, and an ability to connect with children to serve a wide range of learning styles. CSG is open to hiring talented and promising individuals who are relatively new to the classroom, but prefer at least two years of experience.
